    I know this isn't exactly what it was designed for, but I bought this to use on my 80 lb Akita puppy's leash. He gets excited and doesn't know his own strength. Most of the snaps that come on leashes can pop open easily or break and there goes your dog. This locking carabiner works perfectly!! It's light weight and doesn't act like an anchor on the leash.
